On May 15th, analyst Irwin Lazar, President and Principal Analyst at Metrigy, published a MetriNote (a brief analysis paper) titled “LeapXpert Delivers Compliant iMessage Solution.”
In the paper, Lazar states that “LeapXpert has introduced an expanded capability for companies to communicate with Apple iMessage users while meeting enterprise compliance requirements.”
According to Metrigy research, “messaging has become central to customer engagement, with 68.9% using or planning to use business messaging for customer engagement” and “40% specifically had plans to support Apple iMessage.”
Lazar notes that “Absent a secure and compliant messaging solution, employees will often use consumer applications for business communications. This is especially troublesome in regulated industries, and recently led to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission levying $1.8 billion in fines against eight banks for not monitoring and controlling employee communications.”
He argues that adopting a business messaging offerings from each messaging channel “is cumbersome and requires managing each service individually” and instead recommends evaluating a federated platform approach.
Lazar states that “companies, especially those in regulated industries, must take a proactive approach to securing business messaging services. They simply can’t take the risk of allowing employees to engage in conversations on consumer apps outside of compliance and governance control.”
He ends by mentioning that the LeapXpert Communications Platform provides “the ability for compliant messaging with supported consumer services. Consider as well ensuring protection of B2B messaging across native federation services such as Slack Connect and Teams Connect, or through third-party gateway services.”
