Data Sovereignty

Data sovereignty refers to the principle that digital information – including any data that has been collected, created, processed, converted, and stored in binary form – is governed by the laws of the country where it was originally generated or collected. If this information is then stored in a different country, known as data residency, it must adhere to the legal regulations of the country where it is stored, while also complying with the laws of the country where it was initially generated.
